Welcome back to Run Republic Wanderlust! We’ve run through snow-capped mountains, bustling city streets, and even the stunning landscapes of Central Asia… so it’s time to head to a place known for its rhythm, passion, and muy bien energy: Argentina! This week, we’re taking you to the Buenos Aires Marathon on September 25, 2025. A race set to fill your lungs with the best city air, your ears with the sound of tango, and your legs with an unforgettable challenge.

Buenos Aires, a city where the streets pulse with life, offers a marathon course as vibrant as its culture. From tango-filled streets to delicious steaks that make every runner stop for a bite (hey, carb-loading), this marathon promises to be a viva experience in every step. So grab your running shoes and maybe leave room for an empanada or two.

    • Marathon (42.2 km): 117 USD (~€108)
  • Course Profile: The course takes you through the heart of Buenos Aires, from iconic landmarks to tree-lined streets. Expect flat terrain, perfect for a personal best. Plus, you’ll run past the city’s best spots, from Avenida 9 de Julio to the breathtaking Plaza de la República. The full course route is here
  • Weather: Springtime in Buenos Aires means mild temperatures and little humidity, perfect for running, but watch out for those unannounced tango performances.

     

How to Enter

Registration is available through the Argentinian platform called ticketear here. Some google translate will be need.  International runners can register for the marathon at $117 USD. It's advisable to register early, as spots fill up quickly.

  • Local Transport: Buenos Aires has an extensive public transportation system, including buses (colectivos) and the Subte (subway). Taxis and ride-sharing apps like Uber are also widely available. For a more authentic experience, consider taking a "collectivo" bus ride to navigate the city's vibrant streets.
